We would love to recognize one of our own who inspires us every day – CVI research nurse Doreen Higgins, RN. Doreen has dedicated over 15 years to being a fierce advocate for our research participants. As a research nurse, she makes sure that our patients have the best information during their journey. She constantly works to find a balance between the needs of CVI's research as well as what works best for our participants.
"I love getting to know our patients- I get to spend a lot of time with them during their visits, answering questions and trying to alleviate any concerns they have about getting an experimental treatment. For years after the trial, I get updates on how they and their families are doing. I get sent pictures of weddings and grandchildren."
Doreen’s passion for what she does continues to make a difference in the lives of those who have completed our trials. CVI staff and patients are lucky to have her!
