Curing cancer

is the moonshot of our generation. And through the breakneck pace of the COVID-19 vaccines development, we've all seen firsthand how ample funding is a game changer in medical research. The Cancer Vaccine Institute receives federal funding, but much of the work we do does not qualify for this government support.

Philanthropic donations help fund things like vaccine manufacturing, equipment and instrumentation updates and purchases, and gives us the time to explore new ideas and early research that's high-risk, but also high-reward. It can help develop preliminary data that paves the way for larger federal grants that move the needle on cancer.

Learn about our Dream Project to activate the immune system to attack cancer by modifying bacteria in our gut.

Meet the Invincible Kristi Blair

Making cancer treatable, even avoidable: that's what Kristi Blair, a mother of five, wants, too. And she and Dr. Nora Disis hope it might happen over the next decade.

Planned Giving

What will your legacy be? Planned gifts provide creative and flexible strategies for your estate and charitable planning. Some planned gifts provide you with income. Many of them can reduce your taxes. The greatest benefit, however, lies in knowing you are supporting cancer vaccine research that will help others.

Mary Susan Wilson, Director for Planned Giving, is available to discuss your options with you or your adviser. For more information, please contact Mary Susan at mswilson@uw.edu.
